The unique performance of Kosovar artist, which for the first time was introduced in Runik in July, continues the journey with an exhibition in Turin, Italy. The "Shkrepëtima" will be unveiled at the "Merz Foundation" from 29 October and will remain open until February 3 next year. After Runik, Halilaj's performance, from July 20 to August 19, was also presented in Bern, in Switzerland at Zentrum Paul Klee. Petrit Halilaj is the winner of the second edition of the "Mario Merz Prize", an international biennial award founded by the foundation of the same name that aims to highlight the extraordinary artists. According to the announcement of the online magazine "BlouinArtInfo", part of this exhibition will be a series of works previously performed, where the artist explores the past of his birthplace, Runik. "After experiencing war and migration with his family during his childhood in Kosovo, Petrit Halilaj's practice usually involves an optimistic, poetic, and somewhat humorous personal narrative," BlouinArtInfo wrote. It is also said that with "Shkrepëtimë" Halilaj explores national identity, addresses geographic boundaries and questions the form of collective history through its videos, drawings and sculptures.
