BARI - After 27 years from the arrival of the ship Vlora, another ship is sailed to the port of Bari: "The Ship of Hope". It is not a real ship, but a sculpture dedicated to the great exodus that took place on August 8, 1991, where about 20,000 Albanians landed on the Apulian coasts, fleeing their land in search of ... hope. This indelible in the minds of the citizens of Bari.
The work, created by the albanian artist Ledi Shabani, is located at the entrance to the port of Bari. It represents a gift to the capital of Puglia by the association 'Noi che l'arte', presided by Massimo Diodati, to celebrate that distant August of 1991 and to testify the recognition of the Albanian people for the welcome received by the Barisans. The event was attended by the Councilor at the Culture of the City of Bari, Silvio Maselli and the Chairman of the Port Authority of the Southern Adriatic Sea (Adsp Mam), Ugo Patroni Griffi.
